Description
Great Britain - QV (surface printed) : 1d. Lilac Die I 14 dots, variety WATERMARK INVERTED, fine used fine colour lightly cancelled for the period example, trace of hairline vertical paper crease so fine that we suspect this to be original - which does not affect appearance, centred N.W. as displayed (inverted). 14 dots inverted watermark is a rare and underpriced stamp by Gibbons at £600. Please do the research, we did - we found one very poor example sold some years ago, nothing currently found on-line/in dealer's stock and no evidence of a similar quality example offered/sold in the past few years. We know how popular specialist 1d. Lilacs are - we soon sold a number of 16 dot INV WMK unmounted mint examples a couple of years ago - but the 14 dot inverted watermark hardly exists in the marketplace during the past few years until ours is offered today. Significantly under-priced by SG (who don't have one for sale and don't even price as mint). RARE. Don't wait too long (UPA CERTIFICATE).
